LEGISLATIVE UPDATE: SB 410 PASSED UNANIMOUSLY in the GA House on March 8th

Vote on SB 410: Yeas 170, Nays 0

The bill will be forwarded to Governor Kemp for signature into law. Led by the GA Pet Coalition, SB 410 creates an expedited pathway for out-of-state vets and vet techs to practice in shelter medicine, nonprofit sterilization clinics, or nonprofit mobile sterilization programs by providing a 6-month temporary license.

Georgia must compete for veterinary professionals in a tight job market; temporary licensing lessens employment delays caused by bureaucratic requirements for an in-state license and will be especially helpful for recruiting veterinary professionals for relief work in areas near our state borders.

THANK YOU to our lead sponsor, Senator Kay Kirkpatrick, and all 10 cosponsors, and to those organizations who have endorsed the bill!
