Victory for dogs and cats: 500 US localities have passed humane pet store laws

NATIONAL MILESTONE: 500 local governments across 31 states have passed ordinances prohibiting the sale of puppies and kittens in pet stores. These local efforts are providing momentum for state legislation. EIGHT STATES have enacted laws that mirror their local ordinances and FIVE STATES have introduced legislation. It’s no secret that animals offered for sale in pet stores come from cruel pet mills.
