Please join the GA Pet Coalition in expressing our deep appreciation to State Senator Kay Kirkpatrick and State Representative Sharon Cooper for their successful sponsorship of two very important animal-related bills, SB 20 and HB 177, respectively.

 

SB 20 provides educational loan repayment of $75k for veterinarians who practice full time in shelter medicine or nonprofit pet sterilization for three years.

 

HB 177 provides for the inclusion of pets in protective orders for domestic violence and dating violence.

 

Because of their compassionate and strong leadership, more Georgia pets will have timely access to spay/neuter and be better protected in domestic violence situations.

 

If you would like to be included in the letter of gratitude to Senator Kirkpatrick and Representative Cooper, please add your name, county, and affiliation (if applicable) to the sign-on letter by May 23rd.

 

The letter will be delivered to these wonderful lawmakers on May 26th.
